Abbe May + Owl Eyes

Fri 21 Feb 2014

Electronica/Grunge Pop artist, Abbe May, is one of Australia’s most respected songwriters and performers, having released three albums and two EPs in the last five years to massive critical acclaim. Her last two albums have been nominated for The Australian Music Prize and The J Award and in 2013 May was nominated for ARIA Best Female Artist.

A prolific and powerful artist, Abbe May’s live performances are violent, intense and sexual. Many consider May to be one of Australia’s most versatile and dynamic vocalists. Her catalogue of songs would almost be romantic if it weren't for the vitriol.

Abbe May is a black sheep in a pop paddock groaning with nice girls. 4/5 STARS  THE AGE

What is constant through Abbe’s recordings is unmistakeable sex appeal and chaotic honesty. 8/10 THE AU REVIEW

May chucks a musical U-turn, indulging in a joy of sex and synths. It’s dirty, flirty and dark. 4/5 STARS  WHO magazine
