UPCOMING EVENTS

Festival in Focus Talk: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (As You Like It), Mies Julie & Krapp’s Last Tape

We are delighted to host the second Festival in Focus talk for the 2014 Festival.  This is a free event for Friends of the Festival and you are welcome to bring a guest.

Associate Professor Steve Chinna (UWA) will talk about the source texts that the following theatre events have been inspired by: Dmitry Krymov’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (As You Like It), Baxter Theatre Centre’s Mies Julie, and Robert Wilson’s Krapp’s Last Tape

If you are unfamiliar with, or haven’t read in a while, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, August Strindberg’s Miss Julie, or Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape, then this presentation is not to be missed. It will provide a great insight into the works being presented, helping you with your choice of which shows to see, and offering a deeper understanding of the performances you attend.
