Located on Finnerty Street, the historic site was originally the first purpose-built 'lunatic' asylum in WA. It has since been a women’s home, a naval base during WW1 and WW2 and a technical college before opening as Fremantle Arts Centre in 1972.

Access

Disabled toilets are on the east side of the building, between the Samson Courtyard and staff car park. There is no access to the upper levels of Fremantle Arts Centre.

Transport

The Fremantle CAT Bus stops at Fremantle Acquatic Centre on Ord Street, which is a 100m walk from Fremantle Arts Centre.

Parking

Free 4 hour parking bays are available outside Fremantle Arts Centre on Finnerty Street. There is also limited free street parking available on Ord and Vale Streets.

Paid parking bays are available at the Fremantle Leisure Centre (located opposite Fremantle Arts Centre on Ord Street).

Disabled parking
Two disabled parking bays are located on Finnerty Street, next to the entrance of Fremantle Arts Centre.

Concert & Events parking
Additional parking space is available at John Curtin College oval, adjacent to Fremantle Arts Centre.
